Learning photography does not stop after you have mastered your camera’s different functions and modes... On the contrary, it is just beginning!
Photography, when it is no longer simply a tool of memory, and when we begin to consider the beauty of images, becomes an art in its own right. From then on, its practice requires a creative investment depending on our artistic ambitions.
To devote oneself to the photographic art, and thus to become an "artist", implies to develop one's own aesthetic style, to find one's "touch", and to discover one's favourite genres and subjects. To achieve this, it is necessary to be inspired and to learn about the major genres of photography, and about specific shooting techniques such as those used in architectural photography and night photography.
If you have reached the end of your technical apprenticeship, and you have mastered your camera, take a look at our courses in the Intermediate: Developing your style category, and determine what will be the first step in your artistic apprenticeship!
THE PHOTO ACADEMY offers a wide range of courses on subjects as varied as composition, portrait, night photography, street photography, architecture, black & white and reportage. This vast choice of intermediate-level workshops will allow anyone to explore the various facets of photography, and thus discover their areas of interest in the field. These different workshops will give you the knowledge and inspiration you need for a creative practice of photography.
Afterwards, if you wish to shape your style, it is only through practice, trials, attempts and questioning that your images will develop an aesthetic distinctiveness.
