THE PHOTO ACADEMY Tokyo

Is any city in the world comparable to Tokyo? It really is one of the most exciting and inspiring places to live in the world! However, the hustle and bustle of city life can be overwhelming, which is why it is so important to take time out for yourself. If you are on our website, you are probably interested in photography. Whether you want to try a new hobby or enhance the photography skills you already have, we have something for you!

Our students are taught how to improve their photography in a short period of time by our professional teachers. So if you want to learn quickly and efficiently, then check out our photography courses!

What to Photograph in your city?

In a city as big and eclectic as Tokyo, you have an abundance of photography subjects to choose from. If you already have an idea on what genre of photography you like, then perfect. However, if you are entering the photography world for the first time, it can be tricky to know what direction to go in. Our advice is to start off with the courses marked 'Beginner level'. These will cover all the basics and ensure that you are ready to start your photography adventure!

One of our favorite things about Tokyo is the vibrancy of the streets. We love neighbourhoods like Shimokita that are awesome to explore with a camera. There are so many possibilities to take cool photographs. If this is your kind of thing, then our 'Street Photography For All' course is the ideal introduction to this fun genre of photography. And, if you want to make sure your street photographs are extra stylish, then consider our 'Black and White' class too! You will learn how to play with light, exposure and shadows to create breath-taking images.

With hundreds of skyscrapers, Tokyo has an impressive skyline and is the perfect subject for our 'Architecture Photography' course. You can have a lot of fun experimenting with the light, angles and composition of Tokyo's buildings. With gorgeous old buildings and creative contemporary structures, like the entrance to Tokyu Plaza, you won't be short of things to photograph! This course will also teach you the history of architectural photography and the great photographers who defined this genre.

Prefer to photograph people? Then take a look at the portrait course. We also have an online courses for the best selfie! Impress your friends and family with your new photography training or give them a gift card so you can join a course together!

If you don't have an SLR camera, DSLR camera or a film camera, we have courses in smartphone photography too. Our photography courses are varied and packed with knowledge.
