Ishan Bagai

Ishan Bagai is a Mumbai based freelance photographer with eight years of experience. He is mainly into travel, lifestyle and studio photography. He has also been a travel writer and a guest faculty at various universities across India. The working of a camera from a very young age always fascinated him. He grew up in a small tourist town of Shimla where he received his basic education. In 2011 he enrolled into a Mass Communication course from where his interest in photography grew as a profession. To further his knowledge Ishan enrolled into De Montfort University, Leicester. He completed his Master (Photography) course in 2017 gaining valuable knowledge in photography and critical thinking.

Ishan takes inspiration from well-known photographers like Steve McCurry, Raghu Rai, Stephen Gill, Mandy Barker and Henri Cartier Bresson in his photography. As a curious person, Ishan loves to experiment with old photography equipment and other forms of experimental photography.

Ishan has travelled to various cities and countries. He prefers to stay in a specific location for months at an end to understand the culture and lifestyle before he starts his assignment. With an outgoing personality, he finds it comfortable to talk to people and get their perspective on their cities.
As a teacher he is very supportive of his class. Ever present to help and advise photographers on various subjects.
