Chi Hong Yuen

Chi Hong Yuen is a fashion and portrait photographer based in Liverpool, UK. Specialising in fashion and portrait photography, his work draws inspiration from a range of cultural influences, combining both Eastern and Western aesthetics, creating distinctive and thoughtful visual storytelling. While these are his primary areas of expertise, Chi has a strong foundation and extensive knowledge across all aspects of photography, including studio lighting, location shooting, analogue processes, post-production and photographic theory.

Chi graduated with a BA (Hons) in Commercial Photography from Arts University Bournemouth and is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. He has extensive experience working with both analogue and digital photography systems, medium-format cameras such as Hasselblad and Mamiya RB/RZ67 , traditional darkroom printing techniques, and modern Phase One digital medium-format cameras.

Alongside his professional practice, Chi is passionate about photography education and enjoys helping students develop both their technical skills and creative confidence. He has taught and mentored students with a range of experience levels, from complete beginners to aspiring professionals, and has received positive feedback for his patient, supportive, and student-focused teaching style. Chi believes that every student learns differently and tailors his lessons to individual needs, learning pace, and creative goals, creating an encouraging environment where students can grow with confidence.
