I enjoyed all the sessions, good speed and presentation. I would use the camera as a "point and shoot" in auto for fear of messing up. Now more confident to take more shots and use different priorities to gain experience. Glad I signed up for this. Thanks.

Nothing went wrong. Yvan is a lovely person, but still a very new teacher. It was just a little lacking. While I appreciate the time spent actually taking photos; I find the actual teaching to be too brief. The history of Street Photography is really interesting and we got very little of it and the instructor was not super familiar with that aspect. I also think it might be good to include so woman street photographers in the selection of those covered.

Kryves was patient with us, supportive when we did something good and not overly critical when we made mistakes. Use of example photos and their settings really helped. Good location to start in the library and then move to the park for the 2nd day. I appreciate the offer for to sit in future (same) classes. This comment goes for all 4 courses, so I won't reply to the others separately.

Was a little uncomfortable taking pictures of strangers in moving cars.

Organization was lacking. The first day, A Room at the library was misbooked for only one session for the day leaving us in a public space for the second session. The second day, was to start at 10:00 in the library. Since it was a Sunday, the library didn’t open until 12:00 leaving us walking to a nearby coffee shop for the first couple of hours, our second session was to go until 6pm, however the library closed at 5 leaving us outside in colder weather for the last hour. Instructor was very good.

The platform for registration is difficult and it is very hard to get in touch with anyone if you’re having technical issues.

My camera's battery ran out so I couldn't get practice and help with it. I used the instructor's camera but am trying to learn at home now with my own. Didn't get the manual, it was hard to grasp some of the concepts without the visuals. The instructor managed to send it to us.

I thought the courses were good, didn't get the manual ahead of time though. It was helpful.

Kryves was excellent. I would 100% recommend.

I only attended the last course of the series, but wish I had taken all four. Adeel was a great teacher, giving lots of examples to clarify the theory that he presented. I also felt welcome and comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. The course exceeded my expectations and I had a lot of fun!

The website is not as user-friendly as it should be

Great class. Presented just the right amount of info for each class so far. Coffee shop location is a bit noisy at times but was bright and open for practicing taking pic while inside.

This is not a reflection of the instructors teaching etc but rather I expected the class to be at a public building not someone's apartment so I went at 9am and saw I'd be walking into an unknown private apartment with a man I've never met or heard of and couldnt justify the risk for a single woman. Severely disappointed I did message him and he did try to call.

My lesson with Adeel was beyond awesome. He is so passionate about photography and gets excited when I've understood a concept he's tried to teach. I like that he meets in a public space so nobody feels awkward. He listens to my questions and makes sure I've understood the answers. He helped change settings on my camera to make it easier to use. He gives super-helpful tips when I'm taking pictures. I highly recommend him as an instructor and will definitely book future lessons with him.

The course was really helpful and I learned a lot. Adeel was great at explaining concepts and made suer that everyone understood what he was talking about before moving on. The only real downside of the course was how distracting it got in the coffee shop at times which made it harder to learn. The second class we had that day at more students compared to the first, so sometimes it was hard to see the powerpoint and hear what Adeel was talking about being at such a large table with many people. Overall, great course!

Great class! I'd highly recommend this for anyone looking to get a turbo start of photography.

I thought it was great! I learned a lot in a short amount of time. I think having more visual examples of various photography to go with the slides would be helpful. I think it would be also so helpful if we could all email theteacher one photo that could be talked about and as a class we could all chat about the photo, assess, brainstorming ways to make it even better! Thanks!

I went into my classes with The Photo Academy as a requirement for work and left with a new passion and hobby. I learned more in one weekend with Adeel than I was expecting to know in a lifetime. His passion and patience made him the perfect guide as I navigted the world of photography. I will be telling others about my amazing experience and am looking forward to taking more classes to enhance my learning.

I never received any info before this class telling me the location, who was teaching it, so I couldn’t attend. I’ve already sent an email to Photoacademy about this and asking for confirmation of all my upcoming classes ( this one and 2 others)

Michael gave us a great course, I learned a lot.

It is a bit weird to do a low light course from 8 to 10pm in the summer, as it gets dark around 11pm. Thankfully, Michael was very imaginative and I had a very good course. Learn a lot!

I thought it was really weird to do a class out of an instructor's home - it was just not professional. You claim it was his "studio" but it was just his living room, that really wasn't equipped to host a "class" of people. Frankly, I could have just been given the booklet you guys email out and not attended the class and learned the same content - Half of the class was spent just looking at people's practice photos on a screen. It could have been half the length. I was quite disappointed in class 2 and 3.

Our instructor was wonderful and very knowledge. My only suggestion would be that when he is teaching us a certain aspect of what our camera can do that we go outside and try that aspect. It was a lot of information in an 1 1/2 to remember once we were able to go outside.

Michael is a gifted photographer and an able instructor. I have enjoyed his classes immensely. He begins with a lesson and then we have outside photography time where he visits each one of us and helps. The third component is to look at our photos on a large screen and we see how we have done. Michael offers lots of encouragement and enables creativity. He is a wonderful teacher.

Mike patiently and expertly answered all of our questions, delivered the material in a well organized and understandable manner, and was a most gracious host. I will be requesting him for any future classes that I sign up for.

I did not find this lesson nearly as beneficial as the previous and did not find the instructor engaged to offer suggestions and assistance when we were out taking pictures. I would suggest he consider meeting students at a coffee shop in Kensington and it felt awkward to go to his apartment, which was also hard to find. I don't think I'd sign up for another lesson taught by the same instructor.

I would have felt more comfortable meeting in a public place. I was hoping for more content.

The instructor was informative but easy to understand, had examples and media that helped with the explanation. He answered any and all questions respectfully and with clarity.

I was very glad that the class was small so that we could ask one to one questions. The instructor presented the information as his goals were intended at the beginning of class but he also adapted to the needs of the group. Thanks so much.

He made sure we covered what we needed help with most, making sure we understood what we were learning, giving us subjects to shoot to be sure we knew how to use our cameras correctly and even got us to deconstruct photographs so we could understand better. He also gave us further information we hadn't even thought to ask which was extremely helpful

Michael was extremely patient, persistent and helpful in dealing with the Lightroom problem I had. It took almost the whole session before he finally got it working for me, but did have time to briefly explain the processing end of Lightroom. I am so grateful that I now can download and work on my photos again.

Micheal was fantastic! not only did he teach me how to use my camera technically but he also taught me how to look at the world with a different intention. This was more than just a camera class and I hope he will be instructing me for my session 3
