Giancarlo Fortunato

He studies Design and Photography in Cremona – Philosophy and History of Art in Venezia. Still young he starts working in photography, graphics and architecture. Between 1982 and 1992 he lives and works in Milano as a Designer where he discloses his own cultural path.
The professional and intellectual maturity develops his inner quest to civil commitments, moving him directly into the world of solidarity towards the southern side of the Humanity.
From 1993 to 2000 he’s involved in both humanitarian and social/civil photo-reportage projects; as a humanitarian worker, in relief programs (emergency contexts) and as a photo-reporter, in tough journalistic enquiries (Hazardous waste – Street-children – Child labour exploitation – Paedophilia and child prostitution…).
During these years he lives in Kenya, Southern Sudan, Somalia and Balkans.
He travels in Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Oceania.
He’s involved in editorial projects and journalistic enquiries, for Marie Claire Italia, Avvenimenti, Famiglia Cristiana magazines – and in one important collaboration with the Swiss/Italian TV Network (Somalia 1999).
In 2012 he starts (Geneva area) his activity as a Digital Photography Teacher - Individuals & Businesses.
From 2007 he’s based in Crozet, France.
