My name is Eugene Ivanoff from Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK. I am a man who loves making photographs and spending time with my family (my wife Maria and two daughters – Vili and Stela), traveling around the world for pleasure.
After a long romance with the art, I get to find in photography the muse of my own creativity. My interest in photography stems from an early age. I find myself becoming more and more jaded with the photographic landscape of today and people who are telling stories with their bodies and faces. I never want to be someone who takes predictable, boring photographs.
My pursuit of new experiences pushes me to continually evolve my vision, while reminding me of the importance of carrying my camera with humour, compassion
and curiosity. I can picture the image in my head, look through the lens and make it happen. Then, I always ask myself: is this good enough for a gallery, a museum, a photo book? If so, I’m happy.
If not, I continue to try different angles and approaches until I achieve the desirable result. A deep understanding of both - the rules of composition, colour and texture, and when and how they can be broken, is something I make use of on a daily basis. This constantly search of creativity and variety also develops myself and makes me a better photographer.
The mixture of social, commercial and landscape/cityscape photography gives me the right balance and technique that I need to achieve the desirable result. I thrive on variety, and the huge range of subjects I shoot gives me lots of energy to continue my search of the click that produces a masterpiece of art. Being conversant in different areas of photography, using different techniques means I have more confidence in bringing extra value to my clients and students.
